Hello friends! Mykala here. :)
I am nearing the end of this year’s trip to Europe! I wanted to see as much as possible, but I expired my Schengen visa.
So, I decided to explore the Balkan countries. I knew I had just one week and I planned to do the trip alone.
As I was packing, I realized how few items I really needed. By the end, my backpack was still super light and the trip has been a success with minimal items. I thought I’d share my list and I hope it helps you pack for your next quick trip. :)
I ended up traveling through Albania, Kosovo, and Macedonia with only these items on my back...
Clothing:
3 shirts (Shirts are an item I knew I could easily find more of in a new country. Again, I’m packing as light as possible here.)
2 pairs of pants/leggings
1 pair of shorts
5 pairs of socks
5 pairs of underwear (It is always better safe than sorry with socks and underwear! I pack more than I think I will need. The good things is these items are so light!)
1 additional bra (I’m assuming you are wearing one when you depart on your trip here.😂)
Items:
Phone charger and country adapter (THIS IS SO IMPORTANT! I recommend finding a universal adapter you can keep permanently in your bag with your chargers!)
Small bottle of shampoo + conditioner (I usually just get some small travel bottles at the store and fill those according to the moment of days.)
VERY small bottle of coconut oil (I use this to remove my makeup!)
Mascara
Eyelash curler
3 essential oils (I pack oils with me to prevent any sickness! These oils really save my life! I use DoTerra oils).
Feminine products (I usually keep a pad or two with me! I will buy more if needed.)
Book (This is the heaviest thing in my bag…but I can’t travel without one!)
Deodorant
Small perfume

I like to keep my backpack as light as possible for two important reasons:
1.) I usually end up carrying my backpack a lot. Some days, I don’t know where I’m staying the night, so I prefer to keep my bag with me. A light bag makes all the difference for my back.
2.) I like to pick up things as I go! Usually, that means books and those add weight quickly.
Below I have attached the list along with some notes so you can revise the packing list according to YOUR needs! I hope this helps you as journey on your next adventure. :)
